The only form of public transport on Lanyu is the bus (four buses daily), hence transportation is somewhat inconvenient. The backpackers inn does not provide shuttle service, so we advise you to rent a scooter or car to make your journey more convenient.

Our partnering car rental operator is “Jia Jia Rentals”, which offers vehicle pick-up/return service at the harbor or airport, as well as luggage transfer service. If you need to book your ferry ticket + scooter together, please click on the following link directly to do so, you don't have to book a scooter separately.

Fee
- Scooter NT$500 per scooter per day 
- Car NT$2,000-2,500 per car per day * Please contact us via LINE (@adi4988w) if you need to rent a car.
- One day refers to 24 hours; more than 24 hours will be considered as an additional half day. Payment are to be made when picking up the vehicle.

   • The number of days x number of vehicles = estimated total amount on the order form
   • If you intend to rent the vehicle for more than 6 days, the order amount is the number of vehicles you have booked for one day (24 hours rent) x the number of rental days.

5. Fill in your booking information, please make sure that you leave your ferry/flight information to facilitate vehicle arrangement.
   
   • If your vehicle pick-up date is different from the departure date, please select the pick-up date at the time of booking, and fill in the pick-up date and time in the departure date/departure time column of the order form.
   • We will book the vehicle based on the information you fill in, so please make sure the information is correct.
   
   
6. After the order is sent, we will confirm your booking within 2 working days. If your booking is successful, the system will send an email notification.

Picking up a vehicle
- Picking up a vehicle from Kaiyuan Port - Please search for the “Jia Jia Rentals” van after disembarking from the ferry.

- Picking up a vehicle at the airport - Please wait in the lobby, the rental company will contact you to pick up your vehicle.

• The rental time is calculated from the time when you pick up the vehicle. Some rental companies will charge an additional NT$200-250 for late returns, please settle the payment before returning the vehicle.
  
  
• The vehicle rental fee is calculated based on the rental hours. No deposit is needed for online booking of scooters, please settle the payment with the rental company when you pick up or return the vehicle.
  
  
• If the gas tank is full when you pick up the vehicle, you must pay an additional NT$100 fuel fee.
  
  
• DAD offers free vehicle rental booking service, and other details will be explained by the rental company when you pick up the vehicle. For any other questions, please contact the rental company.

Luggage transfer service
If you have rented a vehicle from our partnering rental company “Jia Jia Rentals”, you are entitled to a complimentary luggage transfer service between the port/airport and the backpackers inn. If you stay in a different hotel for the outbound or return journey, you should ask if the rental company can transfer your luggage.

We suggest handing over your luggage to the rental company when picking up your vehicle. You are reminded to remove valuables or items that you will be needing right away before the luggage is transferred. Luggage transfer may take up to 1-2 hours.

• 行李回程收送時間重要：上午船班/航班請於7:00前、下午船班/航班請於10:00前放置客棧1樓行李區；回程如為第一班飛機無法安排收送，需自行載運；逾時不候，敬請依照上述時間放置行李。

• 提醒您，因應蘭嶼鄉電纜地下化工程事宜，部分路段施工禁止汽車通行，7/22-9/5期間搭乘飛機旅客，請減輕行李重量與大小，需自行載送行李。
